QMC Director

Patrick Vora

Patrick Vora is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at George Mason University. He received his Ph.D. in hard condensed matter physics from the University of Pennsylvania in 2010 and then completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Penn as well as an NRC Postdoctoral position at the Naval Research Laboratory. His research interests and publications focus on understanding the optical, magnetic, and electronic properties of low-dimensional materials as well as how these properties can be used to advance quantum computation as well as other Beyond Moore computing technologies, such as spintronic and neuromorphic computing.
